Welton Cliff

Cliff Farmhouse 5481 Classic Cottages (14).jpg

‘We have created a home from home, a place where friends and families can gather and memories can be made'.

How it all started . . .

Our family have farmed here in Lincolnshire for the last 3 generations. We predominantly farm cereal crops and grow potatoes. We love the countryside and feel very lucky to be custodians of the land and hope we can nurture the farm ready for the next generation.

Like many farmers, we have also diversified into other areas to make our business more viable. One of which is holiday homes; we have 2 properties.

The Farmhouse

Cliff Farmhouse, built in 1800's, was our Granny and Grandpa's home. We have many fond childhood memories of spending time here. Sadly our Grandparents are no longer with us and we made the decision to turn the farmhouse into a holiday home.

This was no mean feat; the attic rooms which had only ever been used for storage, and out of bounds to us as children, underwent a huge transformation as did the rest of the house. Like most restoration projects we ended up doing far more than we originally planned and took the house back to bare walls, dug up the floors and modernised it all.

The result is a beautiful 8 bedroom, 7 bathroom farmhouse, which has been tastefully designed and furnished with the comfort of our guests in mind.

Both properties being a perfect retreat for groups of friends and families with a homely comfortable feel with everything you could wish for (we hope!).

& The Cottage

Just 1/2 a mile down the farm road (2 minute drive/10 minute walk) is Cliff Cottage, which was our Farm Foreman's family home up until he retired a few years ago.

Cliff Cottage was our first holiday home, which was redesigned and modernised. and more recently we have added on a glass fronted open plan living area. A sympathetic addition, which is hard to tell apart from the original stone house and which has created a great living space for family and friends.

Overlooking open fields and with distant views of Lincoln Cathedral, it's a rural retreat.
